Evaluation Question 7
Question 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learn in the progression from it to the full product?
In comparison to my preliminary task, it is evident that there's a big improvement on my skills to produce a magazine as a whole. I have applied my knowledge of real media text conventions better in this task. This is a result of in depth research and studying of real media texts which I didn't have during the preliminary task.
I have also learnt how to take pictures better suited to the magazine and genre.

Evaluation Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
My target audience is teens to young adults (from the ages 12-20). I feel that maily teens woud purchase this music magazine, particularly females. This is because it's quite girly and aimed towards a younger audience since it closely followa the coventions from magazines such as 'we love pop' and 'top of the pops.'

Evaluation Question 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My target audience is teens to young adults and so every aspect of my magazine represents them. This reflects through my magazine because of what I had discovered when doing market research and audience research.
The images I have used all represent my target audience which is the particular age group from 12 to 20 year olds. I have included references to beauty and fashion. I feel that this represents my target audience well and also attracts them to the magazine. This represents them because makeu is something that my target audience generally use and fashion is also something that they take interest in and usually keep up to date with.
The price of my magazine reflects my target audience as it is a very reasonable price. Usually pop magazines are priced at £4.99 or £3.99 however, I have learnt from my audience research that my target audience are reluctant to buy music magazines because they are priced too high. After taking this into consideration, I priced my magazine at £2.99 so that it will be easily accessible for my target audience. Subverting this convention reflects my target audience because at this age they would most likely be students and so they aren't going to want to spend lots of money on magazines when there are articles available for free online.
On my double page spread I have included a reference to social media. 'I connect with them through twitter, instagram and snapchat.' This quote is from Jades interview when she is talking about how she connects to her fans. Social media represents my target audience well as they are very socially connected through these media platforms.

Evaluation Question 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Artist Interview
So Jade, how does it feel to be an upcoming artist in the genre of pop? Especially since there’s a lot of competition between artists within the music industry.
It’s a heavily influential and media based genre in the industry which is definitely empowered by major artists who have been in this industry for many years. I am just a small artist in this industry but I am learning and growing as an individual and musician throughout this journey. Most importantly I’m very happy doing my job. Music is my passion and it has opened up so many doors for me, as well as allowing me to meet and work with so many wonderful people. My new album ‘JADE’ features a song co-written and sung by Selena Gomez and myself. Personally, I don’t see other artists as competition but instead as inspiration because everyone is an individual and has their own unique style. Music is an art which is there to share and to be enjoyed, not to be used as a platform to compete on.
Who are your musical inspirations and who would you like to collaborate with in future?
I listen to a wide variety of genres and artists and there

are many artists who I like and look up to. However, there are two in particular who have always been my idols. That can only be Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. They both symbolise the empowerment of women which is something that I’m very passionate about and also strive to represent. So far I have collaborated with the beautiful Selena Gomez and the talented Sam Smith who is signed to the same record label as me. I’ve had so much fun working with them both and I would happily collab with them again. I am hoping to collab with Katy Perry soon as she is also signed to Capitol records. Collaborating with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry would really be dream come true.
Are there any exciting events coming up soon that you would like to tell us about?
Yes actually, I’m glad you asked. I will be going on tour soon and the tour dates and locations will be released next Friday on my Twitter and can be booked on my website. I’m so excited to meet my fans! I’ll also be releasing my own merchandise when the tour begins so yeah there is a lot of exciting things coming up soon.
This next question is from your fans and has been much anticipated as you already know. I’m sure that you can guess already but this one is of course, are you currently in a relationship?
[laughs] No. At the moment I’m not and the reason for that is because I’ve been focussing on just bettering myself as a person and working hard to be successful. So to be very honest, there hasn’t really been time for relationships [laughs]. An important part of a relationship is commitment and I just don’t think that’s possible for me right now alongside my job. However, in future when I feel a bit more stable in my job maybe then I’ll feel ready to settle into a relationship. Only time will be able to tell us more about this one.
It seems that you have a special relationship with your fans. How do you connect with them?
Yes my fans have a special place in my heart because they are just so supportive and it makes me feel so happy to know that I have that many people who listen to and enjoy my music. I connect with them through twitter, instagram and snapchat.

Contents Page Feedback
Target Audience Feedback:
Sarah:
'I like that your contents page is very informative about your magazine and tells us exactly what is inside and where to find it. It's really easy to understand. I think that you could improve by maybe adding a little bit more if the yellow colour to balance it more.'
Nimra:
'I really like the layout and I feel that the pictures all work well together and don't clash. I like the image of the artist called Jessie and I think that the bubbles was quite a clever idea as well as the pink filter. You could improve by making the heading stand out more.'
Anosha:
'I like all of the fonts that you've used. And I especially like the idea of having the charts on a contents page because it keeps you updated on the latest music. I think you could improve by filling up some of the space near the image of the front cover.'

Contents Page Colour Choices
Colour Choices:
I have kept the same colour scheme going from my front cover. My colour scheme includes pink, blue and yellow along with white and black. I chose these colours because the are very bright and bold and reflect the genre of pop very well. These colours are commonly used in real media texts such as 'we love pop' and 'top of the pops.'
I chose to use pink specifically because it's a very feminine colour which relates to my target audience as mostly females would read this type of magazine.
I decided to add in the bright yellow to break the colour a bit and create an even balance between all of the colours.
